Luca Ricci

Born in 1992 in Piacenza, he studied flute with Franco Nobis, Anna Mancini, Thies Roorda and Rien de Reede, graduating in 2010 (Conservatory “Arrigo Boito”, Parma).

Since 2012 he has been studying composition, earning his degree (Conservatory of Piacenza, October 2018). He has also participated in seminars and masterclasses held by Giacomo Manzoni, Walter Prati, Francesco Filidei, Aureliano Cattaneo, Stefano Gervasoni, Michael Jarrell, Alessandro Solbiati, Claudio Ambrosini.

In 2017 he graduated in Musicology at the University of Pavia, with a thesis on the Opera for flute by Salvatore Sciarrino.

His first compositions are performed in various festivals: Chitarre a Piacenza 2017, Ass. NoMus, Museo del Novecento di Milano, Festival 5 Giornate di Milano 2018. He was “selected composer” for “Incontri Internazionali di Musica Contemporanea 2018”. (Festival Pontino), and participated in “Maratona Contemporanea 2018”. (La Fenice Theatre in Venice). Among the performers: Andrea Monarda, Martina Rudic, Maria Grazia Bellocchio, Malika Yessetova, New Made Ensemble, Ex Novo Ensemble, Ensemble Atelier de de Touragne. In 2017 he collaborated with Frederic Rzewski on the orchestration of “Main Drag”, for the ensemble Collettivo_21 . His compositions are published by Da Vinci Edition (Osaka) and have also been reviewed on Seicorde, giornaledellamusica.it, Amadeus and broadcast by Radio 3.
